He Toki - Māori Trades Training

Using an innovative, collaborative approach to education, He Toki aims to grow the Māori workforce and ensure rangatahi are the rock stars of our economy and the first in line for the jobs of the future.

He Toki brings together iwi, industry, community and government institutions to strengthen the nature of education for Māori.

He Toki programmes are free to Māori aged between 16 and 40. Knowing your culture and celebrating its strengths is essential to the He Toki experience. As a He Toki student you’ll have opportunities to learn about and grow your understanding of te ao Māori in a safe environment that honours who you are.

Support

He Toki will connect you with the appropriate training programme to suit your individual needs and career aspirations. You’ll be fully supported by tutors, whanau ora navigators and student advisors who will guide and mentor you to realise your potential.
