The learning outcomes for this course are:

Identify key child and adolescent health issues.

Demonstrate awareness of the importance of developmentally appropriate communication with children, adolescents, and their families.

Discuss the key determinants of youth specific physical, mental health, and cultural well-being by utilizing the HEEADSSS framework.

Identify the child or adolescent presenting with symptoms of a mental health disorder (e.g. anxiety, depression, eating disorder).

Identify and discuss issues commonly seen in the primary health care setting which impact the health of young people.

Discuss how to assess and measure pain symptoms in infants, children, and young people.

Identify the myths and misconceptions related to pain in infants, children, and young people.
