Description

Critically analyse the legal, sociocultural and ethical issues surrounding drug administration and use.

Articulate the key components of a comprehensive drug history within a patient assessment.

Analyse fundamental concepts of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion.

Describe the mechanism of action of selected drugs categories and critically discuss nursing activities which maximise therapeutic effectiveness and minimise adverse reactions.

Apply knowledge of drug-drug interactions and adverse drug reactions of selected drug categories, including complementary and traditional medicines.

Describe response variations to medications, including pharmacogenetics and lifespan change to individuals.
