To enable Registered Nurses to further develop knowledge required in the identification, assessment, and nursing management of the collapsed adult patient in an emergency or trauma situation.
Critically analyse physiological responses to traumatic collapse of health status to provide rationale for assessment findings and subsequent nursing interventions.
Integrate knowledge of pathophysiology and utilise as a basis for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care.
Apply critical thinking skills within the context of caring for emergency/trauma patients and their families/whānau.
