Body Scan

Our body scans are full body composition tests. These are an effective way to assess what you’re made of on the inside, and to gauge if you’re on track with your fitness and health goals.

Our new Accuniq BC720 gives in depth analysis on:

  • Body composition (body water, body fat, lean body mass)
  • Obesity analysis (BMI, body fat percentage)
  • Abdominal obesity analysis (waist to hip ratio, visceral and subcutaneous fat mass)
  • Segmental muscle and fat mass assessment
  • Biological age
  • Body type
  • Basal metabolic rate (energy used to support basic physiological functions)
  • Total energy expenditure (amount of energy needed per day to support basic metabolism and activity)
  • Tracking history graph of body composition results

Follow up consultation

  • To track your body composition progress, we suggest performing follow-up body composition scans every 12-16 weeks. However, this is a general guideline, and more or less frequent scans can be performed depending on your health and wellbeing goals.
  • Cost: $20

Discounts rates are available for couples or groups. Please indicate numbers at time of booking.

IMPORTANT NOTE: you cannot do this test if you have a pacemaker or are pregnant.

To ensure the results of the scan are accurate, please follow these guidelines as best you can:

  1. Complete the pre-questionnaire (link provided in the appointment confirmation email) so we can provide you with the best possible service and expertise.
  2. Perform the test each time under the same conditions, temperature, posture, etc.
  3. Undertake your test early in the day and before eating or exercising.
  4. Do not take a bath or shower prior to measurement. Perspiring (sweating) that occurs results in a temporary change in body composition.
  5. Perform the measurement after urination or excretion, if possible. Residues inside the human body are interpreted as fat mass.
  6. Take your test with bare feet.
