New Zealand Diploma in Applied Science (Level 6)
Gain in-demand skills for the fast-evolving commercial science and science laboratory sectors.
This programme covers a range of science-related learning with a strong focus on the workplace. It combines mandatory courses in science, quality management and project management with a work placement allowing you to tailor your programme to your area of interest.
You’ll gain a sound understanding of the technology used in applied science workplaces and increase your knowledge in chemistry, microbiology and molecular biology in workplace contexts. You’ll also learn about legislative compliance needed in complex work situations – for example workplace safety and hazardous substance management – and learn how to critically reflect on and apply knowledge of ethical, social and culturally responsive behaviour to professional practice.
A work placement of at least 100 hours will enable you to apply your classroom learning into a workplace context and ensure that you graduate work ready, with credible experience.
