Create designs for seismic restraint of mechanical plant usingNZ Standards written in limit state format

Assess the strength and stability of standard structural steelmembers using capacity tables or published design load tables

Undertake elementary specific structural design to NZ Standardsfor simple steel structures using elastic analysis

Utilise computer software for analysis of familiar structureswhich can be analysed in well accepted ways

Accurately assess the limits of the safe application of theirknowledge and interact with specialists to solve problems outsidethose limits

Assess vibration and noise generated by mechanical plant andrecommend suitable methods to remedy potential problems
