Apply knowledge of the physiology of acute pain and factors that influence pain perception to nursing care of patients.

Maximise patient outcomes by applying concepts of best practice in assessment and management of acute pain.

Apply knowledge of pharmacology in relation to the use of specific modalities of pain management.

Critically analyse challenging issues in provision of acute pain management.
