Description
Critically reflect on the role of the midwife when a woman has a pre-existing medical condition during pregnancy, labour, birth or the post-natal period.
Explain the pathophysiology of pre-existing medical conditions which may affect pregnancy, labour, birth or the post-natal period.
Recognise pre-existing medical conditions that may that may complicate pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period and identify their management and appropriate referral.
Demonstrate achievement of the Midwifery Council Competencies at a second year level in the context of pre-existing conditions that may complicate pregnancy, labour, birth or the post-natal period.
