To provide the knowledge of the logic and algorithms involved in routing traffic. Students will develop an understanding of individual routing protocols and concepts and learn to configure RIP, EIGRP and OSPF and to analyse, verify and troubleshoot routing operations

  • Understand, configure and compare static and dynamic routes

    Compare and contrast classful and classless IP addressing

  • Design and implement a classless IP addressing scheme for a network
  • Describe the purpose, nature and operation of a router and routing tables
  • Configure basic router operations and correct common routing issues and problems
  • Configure and verify basic RIPv1, RIPv2, single area OSPF, and EIGRP operations in a small routed network
